About Taylor

Taylor has spent nearly 15 years on the front-line of human service delivery including in child protection, federal corrections, and medical intensive care. This lived experience combined with a graduate school focus on crisis and trauma counselling provides her with the empathy needed for treating trauma. As a licensed therapist in Alberta, Taylor’s main focus is first-responders, military veterans, and front-line nurses. She has also worked with car accident victims, and trauma survivors of all kinds including sexual, religious/cult, and childhood neglect. Taylor brings profound expertise in resilience, post-traumatic growth, burnout, grief, and most of all - human connection.

Throughout this heavy but rewarding work Taylor is most known for her direct yet compassionate approach. She uses a bottom-up method to process trauma where she is always looking for the root cause of symptoms and is not in the business of applying band-aids. She does this by using Accelerated Resolution Therapy or ART which combines many evidenced-based modalities like bilateral stimulation, imaginal exposure, and somatic awareness to change the mind-body relationship with the trauma memory, which simultaneously lessens the distressful symptoms associated with it. As Gabor Mate says, “don’t ask why the addiction, ask why the pain.” Taylor feels the same way about therapy: don't ask why the symptom, ask where the trauma is.

As a trauma recovery facilitator, it's Taylor’s best hope to walk alongside her clients as they resolve trauma, regain self, and renew relationships.
