Voice of the Child

A Voice of the Child (VOC) Report is a structured, child-focused process designed to respectfully capture a child’s views, preferences, and experiences in a neutral and developmentally appropriate manner. The VOC is not an evaluation, assessment, or recommendation; rather, it provides an authentic representation of the child’s perspective to support parents, legal counsel, and the court in making informed, child-centered decisions.

Angela is a registered psychotherapist who has completed specialized Voice of the Child training through the Canadian Centre for Family Law (CCFL) and is now offering VOC services. VOC work is conducted using inquiry-based, developmentally appropriate activities that allow children to share their thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment. This approach ensures the child’s voice is heard without placing them in the middle of adult conflict and helps reduce the need for direct involvement in adversarial legal processes.
